When you generate a Pix inside the Picnic app or website and confirm the transfer in your bank, the beneficiary name shown is not "Picnic". Instead, you'll see the name of the partner responsible for processing the deposit โ currently Genius Labs (also known as BRLA).
This is completely normal and expected. You can go ahead with the payment with peace of mind.
Why does another company's name appear?
Picnic works with licensed partners that handle converting Brazilian reais (BRL) into digital reais โ the currency shown inside the app. Due to regulatory requirements, the Pix is processed directly into that partner's account, which is why their name appears as the beneficiary in your bank.
The current partner is Genius Labs (the same company that operates the BRLA brand). You may see this name in a few different ways in your bank, such as:
- Genius Labs
- genius labs.ai
- BRLA
- BRLA Digital
How to know everything is fine
To make sure the deposit will reach your Picnic, just confirm that the Pix code (or QR code) was generated inside the app or on the official Picnic website (usepicnic.com), on the deposit screen. If it was, you can confirm the payment normally.
Once the Pix is confirmed, the balance shows up in your Picnic account within a few seconds.
Want to test before sending a larger amount?
If it's your first time or you want to confirm everything is fine before transferring a larger amount, you can make a test Pix starting at R$ 30 โ at no extra cost. The amount lands in your Picnic account in seconds.
When should I worry?
The only scenario where you should not go ahead with the payment is if the Pix code was not generated inside the Picnic app/website (for example, if someone sent you a QR code by message). In that case, don't confirm it and start a conversation with our team.
