Through our partnership with Monerium, you have a personal IBAN that allows you to directly connect your blockchain wallet to the European banking network (SEPA).
Third-Party Payments
Unlike other currencies, Euro (EURe) operations allow you to send and receive funds from accounts not in your name.
Receiving: You can provide your Monerium IBAN to receive third-party payments, such as salaries or transfers from friends.
Sending: You can send Euros directly from your Picnic wallet to the IBAN of any person or company that supports the SEPA method.
Important Rules and Restrictions
While the use of third-party accounts is allowed, there are mandatory guidelines that must be followed:
Account Ownership: You cannot conduct transactions on behalf of another person. The Picnic account and linked IBAN must be operated exclusively by the account holder.
Restricted Categories: Payments involving legally restricted or high-risk counterparties (as per Monerium Article 17) will not be processed.
Supported Network: The transaction will only be completed if the destination or origin IBAN is compatible with the SEPA system.
How the Process Works
Deposit: When transferring Euros to your personal IBAN, the amount is automatically converted into EURe in your Picnic wallet.
Withdrawal: When sending to an external IBAN, the EURe tokens are redeemed and the Euros are sent via SEPA to the destination account.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are there fees for SEPA transfers via Monerium? Monerium does not charge fees for 1:1 transfers between your IBAN and the banking network.
Can I receive my salary directly in Picnic in Euro? Yes. Since your IBAN is issued in your own name, it supports third-party payments, including from companies.
