Picnic does not issue reports to government institutions.
However, we work with partners like BRLA, who comply with the laws of the places where they operate. This may include the need for them to report certain transactions to tax authorities.
It's important to remember that Picnic is a technology tool that helps you self-custody your digital assets.
As such, the responsibility for fulfilling tax and regulatory obligations lies with the user, according to the laws of the country where they reside or conduct their transactions.
Currently, reports to authorities made by BRLA or another partner may occur under the following conditions:
Deposits or withdrawals via Pix: at this time, it is reported to the tax authorities that CPF (a Brazilian taxpayer ID) x purchased y tokens paying z reais.
Conversions of BRLA<>USDT/USDC.e: only when our router chooses the extended liquidity route of BRLA, it will report to the RFB (Brazilian Federal Revenue) that CPF x purchased y tokens (USDT/USDC/BRLA) paying z tokens (USDT/USDC/BRLA).
