Always choose the **local currency of the establishment**.

-   In Brazil → choose **Real (BRL)**.
-   In Portugal → choose Euro (EUR).
-   In the USA → choose USD.

**Why does this matter?**

-   If you choose to “pay in dollars” outside the USA, the merchant's machine may apply additional fees and unfavorable exchange rates.
